A 1987 truck was quickly sold through a free classifieds website. Initially, the MAZ-5334 was designed as a fuel tanker, but fuels and lubricants were never poured into the tank: the superstructure was adapted for transporting water. The odometer of the Soviet truck shows only 513 kilometers, because the first owner was a vehicle fleet of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the MAZ-5334 was in reserve.

Soviet power: unique experimental MAZs

The owner claims that the MAZ-5334 is fully operational: the YaMZ-236 engine “works perfectly,” there are no foreign odors in the cabin, and after conservation, extensive maintenance was carried out at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The truck itself passed inspection; the traffic police has no complaints about the superstructure, adapted for transporting water.

The tank can be filled by gravity or using a standard pump; there are two 4.5-meter hoses and one ten-meter hose. Capacity is up to 600 liters per minute, so the tank lasts for 12.5 minutes. The kit is complete: for better visibility, mirrors from KamAZ are installed, but the factory parts are preserved.

MAZ will still retire its best-selling bus from the 1990s

The almost new truck quickly found a new buyer for 1.6 million rubles. The 2024 Lada Vesta NG in the initial Comfort ’24 configuration with a 1.8 engine and a CVT is comparable. Two-axle trucks MAZ-5334/5335 lasted on the assembly line from 1977 to 1990.
