Aston Martin Valiant – new track supercar with six-speed manual gearbox

Aston Martin has revealed the Valiant, an extreme version of the Valour that will be limited to 38 units worldwide and was originally conceived as a personal commission for Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso. The road-legal track supercar will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2024, with customer deliveries starting in the fourth quarter of this year.

The exclusive model was brought to life through the Q by Aston Martin bespoke division and is equipped with a 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 producing 735 hp. With. and 753 Nm of torque, which means that it has 30 hp. With. more than the Valour and the same maximum torque. Like the Valour, the Valiant will be sold exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels.

Numerous weight loss measures were taken. For example, the car has a 3D printed rear subframe, which reduces weight by 3 kg, as well as a magnesium torsion tube, which saves 8.6 kg. Unsprung weight has been reduced by 14kg thanks to the use of new lightweight 21-inch magnesium wheels, while the lithium-ion battery saves a further 11.5kg.

Since the Valiant is track-focused, it’s no surprise that Aston Martin has worked hard on its handling. All units will come standard with Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve dampers, which can adapt to one of 32 damping curves in under six milliseconds.

The automaker has also recalibrated the Sport, Sport+ and Track driving modes and fitted carbon-ceramic wheels as standard, complete with massive 410mm front discs and 360mm rear discs.

Visually, Valiant is much more aggressive than Valour. It features a host of new carbon fiber parts, including a new splitter and multi-layer planes near the front wheels. Aston Martin also created a new full-width carbon fiber grille, new side fenders and attached aerodynamic hubcaps to the 21-inch wheels.

The Valiant also sports intricate Formula 1-inspired side skirts, a towering fixed rear wing and a new carbon fiber diffuser.

The Valiant’s interior has also been redesigned, with a cutaway of the transmission tunnel now revealing the stunning shifter system. There are also a host of new carbon fiber parts, such as a roll cage, Recaro Podium seats, four-point racing harnesses, and a three-spoke steering wheel.

“Valiant is a modern masterpiece,” Marco Mattiacci, Aston Martin’s global brand chief and chief commercial officer, said of the car. “It focuses on providing the driver with a truly unique, intense and emotional driving experience.”
