The director of product programs and projects of the plant, Oleg Grunenkov, confirmed to that more durable ball joints from the Lada Vesta family will be installed on vans and station wagons assembled in Izhevsk. The service life of the part will double to 100,000 kilometers; in addition, it will be possible to change ball joints on Largus separately – without replacing the suspension arms.

On the original Lada Largus, the front suspension was configured in such a way that it was proposed to change the arms as an assembly. Russian motorists did not agree with this approach and learned to change ball joints. And now the unit has modernized the plant: removable ball joints have been installed on the import-substituted family of station wagons and vans.

Owners of Largus cars assembled in Tolyatti will benefit from the innovation: they can press out the old-style ball joint and install a new one. Otherwise, there were no complaints about the suspension of the Lada Largus, so on gasoline models the chassis will remain unchanged. But the heavier electric e-Largus will switch to reinforced rear springs and feature recalibrated shock absorbers.

AvtoVAZ restarted serial production of Lada Largus this week. Basic station wagons and vans will hit the sales network in the summer. The prices are known: for a five-seater passenger Largus you will have to pay 1,660,000 rubles, for an all-metal van – 1,670,000 rubles. More equipped versions will be added in the fall, at which time the e-Largus electric car will hit the production line.
