The Togliatti portal Avtograd news, which is well acquainted with the inner life of AvtoVAZ, claims that the long-awaited Lada Niva Sport has finally gone into production. The factory division of Lada Sport has already assembled two SUVs in serial specification, which were shown to the head of the Russian auto giant Maxim Sokolov at the ceremony of sending the Lada Sport Rosneft Raid racing team to the Silk Way marathon in 2024. But the new product has not yet been officially shown.
There is only unofficial information about the model – it is known that under the hood there will be a 122-horsepower 1.6-liter engine from the Lada Granta Sport, the engine will be supplemented with disc brakes on both axles, original interwheel differentials with four satellites instead of two, new hubs, drive shafts with CV joints, and a transfer case from the Niva Travel.

Naturally, they will modify the suspension and introduce new shock absorbers and springs into it. Apparently, the steering will also change, as hinted at by the new steering column in the cabin.
