Samples of the new “budget” AvtoVAZ, assembled in the scientific and technical center, were taken to the testing ground in Sosnovka, Samara Region, for testing, writes the insider community Avtograd News on the social network “VKontakte”. As can be seen from the published photos, not only the sedan is transported in covers, but also the model with an enlarged trunk – the Iskra station wagon, which AvtoVAZ has not yet shown in person.

Insiders report that Lada Iskra is not yet ready for serial production: AvtoVAZ has not yet selected all suppliers of components. In any case, the new model should only go into production next year. Earlier, the head of the company, Maxim Sokolov, announced the preliminary cost of the model: it will be in the range of one to 1.2 million rubles. However, before the launch of sales, the price will probably change.

Iskra is built on a partially localized CMF-B platform, left over from Renault. The exterior plays on the familiar X-shaped motif, albeit in a slightly new way: they tried to repeat it in the shape of the headlights and taillights.
