The new affordable Iskra model, which in the future should replace Granta on the market, will first appear to the public at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which will be held from June 5 to 8, 2024. TASS reports this with reference to the company’s president Maxim Sokolov. Interestingly, only last week information about the premiere of Iskra at SPIEF AvtoVAZ [называл слухами](

According to Sokolov, presenting new automobile industry products at the international economic forum “has already become a good tradition.” “This is probably the most representative platform where we will present the Iskra car,” said the head of AvtoVAZ.

He added that he himself had already driven the new budget car, and found it very comfortable, responsive, dynamic and convenient.

Sokolov recalled that last year at SPIEF a prototype of the Lada Aura – Vesta of increased comfort with a wheelbase extended by 25 centimeters debuted. Its serial production should start in the third quarter of 2024.

Lada Iskra should enter the production line in Togliatti at the beginning of 2025. A family of cars is planned on the CMF-B-LS platform, inherited from Renault – a sedan, a station wagon and a Cross-station wagon. It is expected that the cheapest option will be equipped with a 1.6-liter sixteen-valve engine, and the more expensive one will be equipped with a naturally aspirated 1.8 Evo.

According to experts, the Iskra will be noticeably more expensive than the Granta: its cost will start at 1.2 million rubles. For comparison, for the Grant they ask from 699,900 rubles.
