The story of Elvis Presley’s lost and found BMW 507 Roadster inspired the German company Estella-Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH to create a special body for the G29 Z4 Roadster. The car, dubbed the Tender 5.7, features a new retro-styled carbon fiber body and will be produced in a limited edition of 15 units.

The round headlights, elongated grille, side gills and sharp fender lines are clear references to the original.

The interior borrows heavily from the BMW Z4 G29, including the digital instrument cluster, Harman Kardon audio system and gear selector. However, its two-seater interior is now covered in special full-grain leather that can be individually personalized to the owner’s taste.

Under the hood is a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine from the BMW Z4 M40i, which produces 500 hp. (373 kW) and 650 Nm of torque. This represents a significant increase in power of 165 hp. (123 kW) and 150 Nm compared to the standard M40i, made possible by a larger turbocharger, exhaust pipe and upgraded exhaust system.

Chassis changes include fully adjustable suspension coupled with a new set of 20-inch forged alloy wheels that closely resemble those from BMW’s Alpina tuner.

Tender 5.7 is named after the popular Elvis song “Love me Tender”. Each of the 15 units planned for production will be painted in its own unique shade.

According to the official website, two of the 15 pieces have already been sold to customers. Auto Moto Und Sport reports that each Tender 5.7 starts at €288,000, making it around five times more expensive than a regular BMW Z4. For that kind of money you can buy a BMW Z8, which also has styling cues inspired by the 507, but with a real V8 under the hood.
