The final example was called L’Ultime, and it is based on the Chiron Super Sport. The hypercar is painted in the spirit of the very first Chiron, shown in Geneva eight years ago. The body bears the names of places and events that have become part of the history of the model. The engine is standard: W16 8.0 quad-turbo engine with 1600 horsepower and 1600 Nm of torque. The Chiron will be replaced by a hybrid with an output of about 1800 horsepower.

Bugatti has completed production of the Chiron. The last, 500th copy is named L’Ultime. This is the Super Sport version, finished in Atlantic Blue/French Racing Blue, like the example that debuted at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Here, however, the gradient is inverted, and the wheels are painted in the same color as the corresponding part of the body. In addition, the names of places and events that have become an integral part of the Chiron’s history are hand-painted on the sidewalls.

Bugatti has styled the Chiron Super Sport as a rare Type 55

This is Geneva, where the hypercar celebrated its world premiere. And the town of Chantilly in France, which is famous for its Concours d’Elegance. And the Paul Ricard circuit, where driving tests took place. The list also included Bugatti’s native Molsheim, as well as Cape Canaveral and Chateau Saint-Jean, where the company organizes test drives for customers.

Other features of L’Ultime: the blue Bugatti logo on the radiator grille, and its mesh is not the same as that of regular Supersports, the number “500” scattered here and there and the French flag on the side mirror housings. The hypercar’s interior is finished in Deep Blue color and decorated with Blue Carbon Matt decorative linings. The door inserts are made of thin strips of leather intertwined.

The hypercar is powered by a W16 8.0 quad-turbo engine with 1,600 horsepower and 1,600 Nm of torque. The front transmission is a seven-speed “robot” with two clutches, in which the gear ratios are adjusted. Acceleration to 60 mph takes 2.3 seconds for the Chiron Super Sport. Maximum speed is 440 kilometers per hour.

The next Bugatti model will inherit the signature features of the Chiron, but the engine will be different – V16 8.3, which will also be part of a hybrid power plant. The power of the unit will be about 1000 horsepower. Another 800 will be provided by three electric motors, so that in terms of combined output the two-door will be closer to the Bolide prototype, which was supposed to develop 1850 horsepower on racing gasoline.
