According to the Public Council for Taxi Development, today the country has a shortage of specialized specialists who are able to repair cars from China. Despite the fact that Chinese cars rarely require serious restoration, the demand for the services of qualified car mechanics in Russia exceeds existing supply.
Serious repairs are most often required for cars with high mileage. Among modern “Chinese” there are still few such cars. And most of them are still under warranty. However, experts believe that the situation may soon change. This will be especially felt by taxi services and car sharing operators, who are increasingly using Chinese models in their fleets.
According to experts, large companies may have serious problems repairing Chinese cars. In Russia there are not enough craftsmen specializing in models from China. In addition, Chinese manufacturers do not have a unified database of components, so it is extremely difficult for car mechanics to select the spare parts necessary for repairs. Some services are already reporting Chinese cars hanging on lifts for weeks due to problems with body repairs.
In mid-September, Russia warned of a possible increase in repair times for Chinese cars. The problem was associated with the lack of access for independent service stations to official catalogs of spare parts from the Middle Kingdom.
