At the Innoprom exhibition, Mir-Distributor, the official representative of the British-Chinese brand MG on the Russian market, presented the Cyberster roadster. The model was first shown in 2021, but serial production at the plant in Shanghai was launched only in 2024. And the MG Cyberster is already available for purchase in Russia – it is in stock at dealers and costs from 7.4 million rubles. Earlier, another Russian company, MG Motor Rus, announced the start of sales of the Cyberster, which also calls itself the official distributor of MG. Its model costs 9,499,000 rubles.

The original British brand MG, which has been owned by the Chinese state-owned concern SAIC for 15 years, has been developing the Cyberster since 2017, and only in 2024 launched serial production of electric roadsters. The project was carried out by a team from the SAIC Advanced Design Centre studio in London, which created the car “with an eye on MG sports models, which have almost 100 years of history.” This is how the Cyberster was born, close in size to the Porsche 718 Boxster, in the design of which you can see the classic MGB of the 60s of the last century.

The Cyberster has a dual-motor setup — one electric motor on the front and rear axles. Together, they produce 544 horsepower and provide the roadster with acceleration from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.2 seconds. The Cyberster has a full drive, the battery capacity is 77 kilowatt-hours, and the range is 520 kilometers.

Mir-Distributor reports that Cyberster is available at dealers in a single configuration. The equipment includes Brembo brakes, a folding soft top that opens and closes in 10 seconds at speeds up to 50 kilometers per hour, and an adjustable angle of the “scissor doors.” The interior features a console that combines three screens, a multimedia system with a third-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, and sports seats.

The aforementioned company “MG Motor Rus” has been selling MG Cyberster in Russia since mid-April, and also in a single configuration – Pioneer Edition. The model is covered by a warranty of three years or 100,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.
