The company has received vehicle type approval (VTA) for the MG6 – this document allows it to begin selling the model on the Russian market. The new product, which will join the business class four-door segment, will be offered in two equipment levels: Comfort and Deluxe. Recommended retail prices range from 2,719,000 to 2,999,000 “depending on the region and configuration,” according to the official representative of MG in Russia, World Distributor.

MG6 is a liftback, which the company itself positions as a business-class car. In terms of dimensions, it is comparable to the Omoda S5, Geely Emgrand and Kaiyi E5, with which the models will compete. Under the hood, the MG6 has a one and a half liter petrol turbo engine producing 168 horsepower. The gearbox is a seven-speed “robot” with dual clutch, and the drive is exclusively front-wheel drive. The declared fuel consumption in the combined cycle is eight liters per 100 kilometers.

It is equipped with a liftback hatch with anti-pinch protection, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED lights, a rear view camera and a set of security systems. The company clarifies that “depending on the configuration, the MG6 may have sporty elements – a diffuser and integrated spoilers.”

Before MG6, Mir Distributor received OTTS for the MG5 B-class sedan. Next in line is the compact crossover MG ZS, and by the end of 2024 the company expects to certify four more models in Russia.
