Chrysler 300 sedan retired

Production of the sedan has ended: the last copy rolled off the assembly line at the plant in Brampton, Canada. The Chrysler 300 was an iconic model and was produced for almost two decades, but 2023 was its last year. The “farewell” limited edition of the “charged” Chrysler 300C with a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine producing more than 490 horsepower was produced in the amount of 2,200 units – two thousand for the US market and 200 units for Canada.

Currently, the Chrysler brand is owned by the Stellantis concern, and with the completion of production of the 300 sedan, its model line was reduced to a single Pacifica minivan. The Chrysler 300 (sold as the 300C in export markets) was not particularly popular: for example, in 2020, at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, 16.6 thousand of these cars were sold, which is 43 percent less than the 2019 result. In 2021, Chrysler managed to sell approximately the same number of sedans, and in the first half of 2022 – 7.5 thousand units (-31.5 percent).

From September 2022 to the present day, the company has been assembling a limited series of “farewell” Chrysler 300C, which received a number of differences from the usual “three hundredth”. The special version had a black radiator grille with a red, white and blue model nameplate in the upper left corner, as well as black edging for the front and rear optics. Equipment included 20-inch forged wheels, four-piston Brembo brake calipers and a 19-speaker audio system.

Such cars in the USA were sold at a price of 55 thousand dollars (five million rubles at today’s exchange rate). The Chrysler 300 was equipped with a naturally aspirated Hemi V8 with a volume of 6.4 liters, the output of which was 492 horsepower.

The maximum speed of the “farewell” Chrysler 300C was 257 kilometers per hour, and acceleration from zero to 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour) took 4.3 seconds. The sedan covered a quarter mile in 12.4 seconds.
