Under the Solaris brand, the Hyundai Solaris, Creta, Kia Rio and Rio X models have returned to the Russian market, which are produced at the former Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus plant (renamed AGR) from the remaining components. The cars have already begun to be shipped to dealers, and, according to one of them, St. Petersburg-based Alarm-Motors, the first batch was booked literally in a day.

Alarm-Motors believes that sales drivers will be Solaris HS and KRS – Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio, respectively. “These two models attract the attention of not only retail buyers, but also corporate clients, in particular taxi companies.” The dealership said that by the end of 2024 it is planned to sell more than 400 Solaris cars, “but clear production dynamics at the plant will help us flesh out our plans.” For comparison, Alarm-Motors, which has four dealership centers in St. Petersburg, has been an official Hyundai dealer since 2019, and during all this time a little less than 2.3 thousand cars of this Korean brand have been sold.

In total, the Solaris model range includes four models: HS sedan, HC crossover, KRS sedan and KRX cross-hatchback (Hyundai Solaris, Creta, Kia Rio and Rio X). They will be covered by a warranty of three years or 100 thousand kilometers, whichever comes first.

The first batch shipped to dealers included 150 cars, mostly HS sedans. The model in the initial Active Plus configuration with a 123-horsepower 1.6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission was priced at 2,064,000 rubles—these prices were announced by Rossiyskaya Gazeta a few days earlier. In the Comfort version with climate control, heated steering wheel, multimedia with an eight-inch touch screen and cruise control, the car will cost 2,148,000 rubles. Comfort+ with diode headlights was priced at 2,159,000 rubles, and the “top” Elegance with keyless entry, a rear view camera and an extended “winter” package was priced at 2,237,000 rubles.
