Diesel Seat Cordoba has a drag race with petrol Toyota Corolla

The American team Hoonigan, which in addition to preparing cars for racing also runs its own blog, presented a new episode of its project This vs. That. The new race, the venue for which was the legendary British drag strip Santa Pod Raceway in Bedfordshire, brought together a Toyota Corolla and a Seat Cordoba, which are not just prepared for drag racing, but turned into uncompromising and even somewhat crazy racing cars for straight-line races.

The 1972 Corolla coupe weighs just over a ton and packs a 570-horsepower, 5.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 under the hood, mated to a 2-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

The 2003 Cordoba weighs about 950 kilograms, which accounts for 700 horsepower, coupled with a nitrous oxide injection system, developed by a 1.9-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive.
