A new Nissan-based Dongfeng Paladin SUV was brought to Russia. The car, produced by the Chinese joint venture Dongfeng-Nissan, is based on the 2018 Nissan Terra, but has a different “face,” a Mitsubishi gasoline engine and a different interior design. For a copy of a 2023 model without mileage, a seller from Moscow asks 3,800,000 rubles. For the same price you can buy, for example, a “top” Dongfeng DF6 frame pickup truck, which is officially supplied to Russia.
The main external difference between Paladin and Terra is a different radiator grille with a Chinese brand nameplate. Body stampings and headlights are identical for the models. The dimensions are almost the same, but the 4.9-meter Dongfeng turned out to be slightly taller than the Nissan. Ground clearance – 215 millimeters.

The interior features different finishing materials and architecture with a tablet screen and round toggle switches, as well as a joystick instead of the gear selector lever. The covering of the central tunnel with various storage drawers is glossy.
The car is powered by a two-liter Mitsubishi turbo engine with 228 horsepower (360 Nm of torque). It is paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic. The drive is a rigidly connected all-wheel drive with a reduction gear and differential locks.
In China, the Dongfeng Paladin went on sale in the summer and turned out to be cheaper than the Tank 300. For the more modern Tank from Great Wall, they are asking from 198,800 yuan, and for the Dongfeng – from 169,800 (2.2 million rubles). Moreover, in Russia the same Tank is valued at at least 3.8 million rubles. The “official” Paladin should also reach the Russian market: Dongfeng promised to add as many as eight models to the line at the beginning of 2024.
