The first trailer for a Formula 1 film starring Brad Pitt, known only by its working title of Apex, was shown during the British Grand Prix. The film was given the very unoriginal title of F1, indicating that the filmmakers had received a licence and backing from the FIA.

As a reminder, according to the plot of the film, Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a Formula 1 driver who participated in the race in the 1990s, had a terrible accident, which forced him to retire from the sport and start competing in other disciplines. Hayes’ team owner and friend (Javier Bardem) contacts him, asking him to return to racing to mentor rookie prodigy Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) at the Apex Grand Prix (APXGP) team.

The film was shot during the real British Grand Prix, with the Apex Grand Prix car on the starting straight, and Brad Pitt and Damson Idris even taking part in some of the Grand Prix action alongside Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and other real-life drivers. The trailer also features some of the 2023 team bosses, including retired Formula 1 driver Guenther Steiner.
