Genesis GV70 crossover turned into an expedition SUV

The joint project of the Korean brand and the delta4x4 studio is called GV70 Project Overland. For now, this is just a concept, although it is impossible to say that the scope of improvements is very serious. The original car’s ground clearance was increased, the track was widened and off-road attributes were added. Moreover, all this is very similar to the GV70 Camping Gear Black Edition, declassified last month.

German studio delta4x4 and Genesis have joined forces to create an off-road version of the GV70 crossover. The project is called GV70 Project Overland and will be officially presented at the Essen Motor Show in early December. The recipe, as always, is simple. Firstly, the car, so that it could more confidently storm various obstacles, increased the ground clearance and widened the track (+50 mm). Secondly, 18-inch KlassikB wheels with Continental ATR tires were installed in place of the standard wheels.

An expeditionary roof rack with PIAA LED chandeliers appeared on the roof of the GV70. And in the bumper there are additional spotlights. By the way, all this is similar to the GV70 Camping Gear Black Edition. There’s not much to say about the delta4x4’s powerplant. So, apparently, it remained unchanged. In Europe, the GV70 is sold with a 2.5 petrol turbo-four (304 hp, 421.7 Nm) and a 2.2 diesel engine (201 hp, 440 Nm). Both engines are combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Full drive. An E-LSD differential is available for an additional fee, which allows for traction vectoring on the rear axle.

delta4x4 has countless projects like the GV70 Project Overland. We have already written about the Tesla Model Y with the geometric cross-country ability of the Niva, an all-terrain vehicle based on the Volkswagen Golf R and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan overlander. Of course, there are cars in the studio’s portfolio that better fit the definition of “SUV”. For example, the Beast 2.0 pickup, made from the new Volkswagen Amarok, or the raised Dacia Duster.
