Remember the Honda Prelude concept car that appeared in late 2023? As expected, this concept is gradually turning into a production model. The company is currently preparing to unveil the second Honda Prelude concept car, which will soon debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK.

Despite its status as a concept car, the new incarnation of the Honda Prelude demonstrates even greater readiness for the production model. Just look at the carefully crafted details: a spoiler at the front and a rear wing, 20-inch wheels and Brembo brakes.

More information about the technical stuffing is also gradually appearing. Firstly, the Prelude coupe will be similar to the Honda Civic hatchback – therefore, we should expect similar dimensions (length about 4.5 meters) and exclusively front-wheel drive.

Secondly, the already known 2.0 e:HEV hybrid engine is also expected to be used – which means we can expect a power of 184 hp and a torque of 315 Nm; perhaps the engine will be slightly boosted to match the status of a sports coupe.

Finally, third: the car must be a 4-seater, which means it will have the traditional 2+2 seating arrangement for a coupe.

As you can see, the Honda Prelude sports coupe is really half a step away from serial implementation. And this should happen soon: Honda representatives talk about the launch of production “in the mid-2020s.”
