In the summer of 2023, the Ioniq 5 N debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The electric hatchback turned out to be the most powerful production car in Hyundai history, as well as the first electric car in the “charged” Hyundai N range. But this year, the Hyundai N sub-brand line may double at once – the company is preparing a sports version of its very unusual Hyundai Ioniq 6 liftback. The premiere of the new model of the South Korean brand should take place next fall.

Hyundai finally decided to release the Ioniq 6 N model. It is expected that the new product will be technically unified with the platform Ioniq 5 N, which has electric motors installed on the front and rear axles – in total they develop 650 horsepower.

Now the flagship Hyundai Ioniq 6 has an all-wheel drive transmission that develops 325 horsepower and 605 Nm of torque and also provides all-wheel drive. Thus, the N version will be the most powerful version of the model.

In addition to the new power plant, the electric car will be equipped with a retuned suspension, stronger brakes and a sporty aerodynamic body kit. The production Ioniq 6 N is expected to be a mass-production version of the Hyundai RN22e concept car, unveiled in the summer of 2022. In fact, the model became a harbinger of the new Ioniq 5 N, and now a commercial model will be built based on it in a body corresponding to the prototype.
