From January to April of this year, 224 thousand cars were produced in the country – 92.5 percent more than in the same period last year. In April alone, production volume increased 2.3 times compared to April 2023. The increase by March 2024 was 0.8 percent. The State Statistics Service also reported on the growth in the assembly of trucks and buses.
In the first four months of this year, 60.3 thousand trucks were produced in Russia – about a quarter more than a year ago.
Buses weighing more than five tons were assembled 5.2 thousand, 31 percent more, less than five tons – 6.5 thousand (plus 17 percent). Also, a third more bodies for vehicles were produced – 14.6 thousand units.

Last month, 137,047 cars were sold – 81.2 percent more than in April 2023. At the same time, in comparison with March 2024, demand dropped slightly. In January-April, Russians purchased 467,739 cars (plus 89.4 percent).
