It became known how much the Tesla Cybertruck from the first batch costs

The Petersen Museum in Los Angeles put one of the first Tesla pickup trucks produced at auction and sold it for 400 thousand dollars (40.5 million rubles). This is about 10 times more expensive than the actual price of the car, but below expectations: the lot was estimated at one million dollars (approximately 100 million rubles). For comparison: the first production GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 was auctioned for $2.5 million (about 250 million rubles).

The Tesla Cybertruck entered the Gigafactory assembly line in Austin, Texas, in mid-July. Production was launched two years late – the deadline was repeatedly postponed, which was caused, among other things, by problems with the supply of components amid the coronavirus pandemic in 2020-2021. Prices have not yet been announced, but, according to preliminary data, the entry-level pickup will cost from 40 thousand dollars.

As a rule, a car with the serial number 001 is put under the hammer, which gives it a special collector’s value, but in the case of the Cybertruck it was just one of the pickup trucks of the first batch. AutoEvolution writes that at the last auction, a car was put under the hammer that was not even delivered – instead, bidders were shown only a picture of a pickup truck. All this was probably the reason that instead of the expected $1 million, the electric car was sold for 400 thousand.

The characteristics of the production Tesla Cybertruck have not yet been made public. What is known is that the electric pickup truck will have a fully controlled chassis, and it will accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in less than three seconds.
