Jetour will begin assembling cars in Russia and will present new products

The young brand, owned by the Chinese Chery, entered the Russian market only in July 2023, and now already sells three models – X90 Plus, Dashing and X70 Plus. However, Jetour has big plans for Russia: the company intends not only to expand its model range, but also to develop local production. Jetour General Director for International Markets Jack Chen spoke about this in an interview with Gazeta.Ru.

Jetour plans not only to supply, but also to assemble cars, deepening localization. For this, the brand is ready to carry out relevant research and development work (R&D), including with the involvement of Russian specialists, Chen said. It is still unknown whether the company will build its own plant or use partner facilities. Various formats are being discussed.

As for new products, the closest one will be the hybrid version of the Dashing crossover – i-DM. She will join the Russian line before the end of this year. Next, already in 2024, the T2 SUV, known in China as Traveler, will enter the market. Later it will also have a gas-electric version and possibly a completely green one. Finally, in the first half of 2026, a brutal version of Traveler with the T3 index will reach Russia.

Jetour also takes into account the demand for all-wheel drive vehicles in Russia and promises to add such modifications to existing vehicles. Currently, the brand’s crossovers are offered to Russians only in a single-wheel drive version.

Last week, Jetour, which positions itself as a separate brand from Chery, announced seven new products. Most of them are crossovers with an off-road focus, like the Traveler, but there are also those aimed at urban use.
