The day before, at a meeting of the board of directors of the auto giant, delegations from the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and Rostec demonstrated upcoming new products. One of the exhibits was a sporty Moskvich 6: photographs of the five-door were published by the press service of the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. However, there are few secrets: the design of the new product is similar to the Chinese JAC Sehol Yao from three years ago.
Moskvich 6: impressions from the first trip
KAMAZ and Moskvich did not comment on the presentation of the “charged” model, and the internal factory numbers are unremarkable, except that a year ago the same plates were on the Moskvich 5 crossover. In the current line of the Russian brand, there is neither a “five” nor a “six” with sporty accents yet.

However, in China, the Sehol Yao with red brake calipers and aerodynamic body kit (splitters, diffuser, side skirts, spoiler on the fifth door) has been sold since 2021, and the exterior decor can complement a variety of trim levels. The technology is uncontested: a 1.5 turbo engine (184 hp, 300 Nm), a preselective 6DCT “robot” and front-wheel drive.
The Russian specification of Moskvich 6 also has a similar combination: it is included in the rich “Business” and “Techno” trim levels. At the same time, liftbacks made by Techno were removed from the price lists, although dealers received small quantities of such cars back in January. Perhaps a version with sporty accents will complement the range over time.
