Kia has introduced a new electric crossover EV3. The new product promises a range of up to 600 km and is the latest representative of the brand’s new line of electric crossovers.

The production Kia EV3 is very similar to last year’s concept car. The aerodynamically optimized body and underbody provide a drag coefficient of 0.267.

The length of the electric novelty is 4300 mm, width – 1850 mm, and height – 1560 mm. In this case, the wheelbase is 2680 mm. Compared to other electric vehicles from Kia, the EV3 is 105mm longer than the e-Soul and 120mm shorter than the e-Niro.

In the European electric crossover market, the new product will compete with other players in the B-SUV class – Peugeot E-2008, Volvo EX30, Mini Aceman and Smart #1.

The crossover has a five-seater interior and a trunk volume of 460 liters. In keeping with current trends, Kia has used sustainable upholstery materials, including recycled fabric and recycled plastic.

Kia’s electric vehicle is based on the E-GMP platform with a 400-volt architecture. The base version will have a 58.3 kWh battery, while the Long Range variant boasts an 81.4 kWh battery. The latter should provide a power reserve of up to 600 km.

It is known that the electric motor of the new product produces 201 hp. and 283 Nm. According to Kia, the EV3 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and has a top speed of 170 km/h. It is known that in the future the model range will be expanded to include the Kia EV3 GT. Sales of the Kia EV3 will begin in July this year.
