The high-speed Jesko Absolut needed 27.83 seconds to do this. For comparison, the Koenigsegg Regera did the same in 28.81 seconds, and the Rimac Nevera in 31.49. The car used for the tests was in standard specification, but equipped with a safety cage and a driver’s seat from the Koenigsegg One:1. Bioethanol E85 was poured into the fuel tank instead of regular gasoline.
Koenigsegg Automotive has set another record for acceleration from zero to 400 kilometers per hour with a subsequent complete stop, improving on its own achievement from a year ago. This time, the Jesko Absolut, tuned for high-speed races, distinguished itself, driven by Koenigsegg factory test pilot Markus Lund. The races took place early in the morning of June 27 at an airfield in the Swedish city of Örebro. The measurements were taken using Racelogic equipment.
Koenigsegg
The Jesko Absolut itself was in standard specification, with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R tires and a full tank of E85 bioethanol. For safety reasons, the hypercar was equipped with a roll cage, plus Markus Lund asked for the driver’s seat to be replaced with a similar one, but from the One:1. Acceleration from zero to 400 kilometers per hour (the actual speed is 412 km / h) and subsequent braking took 27.83 seconds – almost a second less than it took the Regera in 2023. At the same time, Koenigsegg recorded three more world records: 0-400 km / h in 18.82 seconds, 0-250-0 mph in 28.27 and 0-250 mph in 19.2 seconds.
All this was achieved without the use of active aerodynamics, although even without it, the Jesko Absolut can boast one of the lowest air resistance coefficients – 0.278. The Rimac Nevera has a drag coefficient of 0.3, and the Bugatti Chiron has a drag coefficient of 0.35. The Jesko engine is a five-liter V8 with two turbochargers, which produces 1,280 horsepower on regular gasoline and 1,600 on bioethanol. Peak torque of 1,500 Nm is available at 5,100 rpm. The hypercar has a rear-wheel drive. Traction to the wheels goes through a nine-speed Light Speed Transmission with eight multi-plate clutches in an oil bath.
