Lada Largus in Belarus turned out to be cheaper than in Russia

In May of this year, AvtoVAZ resumed production of Largus, moving assembly from Tolyatti to Izhevsk. Now Larguses have reached the neighboring country, and in Belarus they ask for less than in Russia. Thus, the cost of the station wagon starts from 52.2 thousand local rubles, which is equal to 1.42 million Russian rubles. In the homeland, the same Largus costs from 1.66 million rubles.

For the equivalent of 1.42 million Russian rubles, Belarusians are offered a basic passenger station wagon. It is equipped with a 1.6 engine with a capacity of 90 horsepower paired with a five-speed manual. The difference in price with Russia is 240 thousand rubles – this is almost 15 percent of the cost of the Largus in the Russian Federation.

Largus is not the only Lada that is cheaper in Belarus. On the flagship Vesta, you can save even more – about 20 percent. Local distributors explain the difference by the absence of a recycling fee: thanks to this, the final price is lower by 300-400 thousand Russian rubles. It is worth noting that in Russia, AvtoVAZ receives full compensation for the recycling fee from the state.

However, to buy a Lada in Belarus, you will have to pay for the services of an intermediary and the transportation of the car. In addition, new batches of Lada will be more expensive, local sellers say.

In June, AvtoVAZ launched production of another model — the Lada Niva with the Sport prefix. However, so far only two SUVs in serial specification have been reported, which were shown to the head of the company, Maxim Sokolov, at the ceremony of sending the Lada Sport Rosneft Raid racing team to the 2024 Silk Way Marathon. The new product has not yet been officially presented.
