In the world of affordable sports cars, the Mazda MX-5 Miata holds a special place. Some examples aren’t like others, and there’s something special on sale in the US – a modified 1991 Miata NA that aims to mimic the look of the 2023 Miata ND.

The appearance of this car evokes mixed feelings, because the changes, although striking, may turn off some potential buyers.

From the front, the blue Miata looks relatively innocuous, except perhaps for the pop-up headlights with blue-tinted glass. The extended front splitter seems a little excessive, but, as they say, there are no comrades according to taste.

The real intrigue comes when we look at the car from the side: we see aftermarket rims with silver and black spokes, and the rear fenders have given way to significantly wider ones. The rear spoiler mounted on the trunk lid, as well as the bumper and taillights, are clearly inspired by the current Miata ND.

However, the ND-like headlights look like cheap knock-offs rather than genuine OEM parts. The changes don’t stop there: a 10-point roll cage, a new soft top and an aftermarket steering wheel.

The seller also mentions an upgraded suspension, a custom intake, and a limited-slip differential. The vehicle listing highlights the unique ND body kit, as well as a clean VIN and a perfect Carfax report.

For an unusual 1991 Mazda MX-5 Miata with a mileage of 185,000 km, the seller is asking $10,800 (920 thousand rubles).
