The expansion of the Motoru model line was confirmed by the director of Avtozavod St. Petersburg, Ivan Mironov. He said that the launch of a crossover with all-wheel drive is planned for the fall, which will be slightly larger than the X-Cross 7 already on sale. Agreements on the second model have already been reached with the Chinese partner of the plant, which supplies vehicle kits for the X-Cross 7.

“This will be a crossover slightly larger than the X-Cross 7, and its distinctive feature will be the all-wheel drive system,” Mironov told reporters during a press tour at Avtozavod St. Petersburg. He added that about 10 thousand copies of the X-Cross 7 have already rolled off the assembly line, and by the end of the year it is planned to produce 25 thousand cars, “but production volumes are dictated by the market.” Thus, the plant intends to produce approximately 2.5 thousand crossovers per month.

As for the X-Cross 7, its sales started at the end of May, and about three hundred copies have already been sold. The model is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine that develops 147 horsepower. The engine works in tandem with a continuously variable transmission; the X-Cross 7 has only front-wheel drive. The crossover accelerates from zero to “hundreds” in 9.8 seconds, with a top speed of 186 kilometers per hour. There are two configurations to choose from: Enjoy costing from 2,499,000 rubles and Techno for 2,636,000 rubles.

The Xcite X-Cross 7 comes with a warranty of three years or 100,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.

Ivan Mironov also said that the transfer of cars assembled at the plant to the government of St. Petersburg is being discussed. “Currently, budgetary possibilities are being assessed and the required number of vehicles is being determined,” he noted.
