The Polestar 3 range has been expanded with a rear-wheel drive modification, which costs from 79,890 euros – it is already available for order on the European market, and will appear in the US and Australia before the end of the year. This is not only the cheapest version in the line, but also the slowest: from zero to “hundreds” such a Polestar 3 accelerates in 7.8 seconds, while the all-wheel drive electric car with two electric motors needs 4.7-5 seconds. Well, the maximum speed of the new product is 180 kilometers per hour instead of 210.

The electric motor in the rear axle drive of the new version of Polestar 3 develops 220 kilowatts (299 horsepower), and the battery capacity is the same 111 kilowatt-hours as other modifications. On one charge, such a crossover travels 650 kilometers, and in this indicator it surpasses other options, the power reserve of which varies from 561 to 631 kilometers. The energy reserve can be replenished from 10 to 80 percent in half an hour.

The Polestar 3 is a large SUV with 211mm ground clearance, a length of 4.9 meters and a wheelbase of 2.9 meters. The electric cross is based on the modular SEA platform of the Geely holding: the traction battery is located between the axles, the front is a double wishbone suspension, and the rear is a multi-link. Air struts and adaptive shock absorbers are included in the basic equipment, as are Brembo brakes, which, by the way, are also equipped with the single-wheel drive version of the entry-level model.

The crossover’s interior features a 14.5-inch portrait-oriented tablet with the Android Automotive operating system, a digital instrument panel, and a projection display. All versions are equipped with the Pilot Pack driving assistant package with LiDAR.

In addition to the Polestar 3 crossover, the line of the brand, which at one time separated from Volvo, is represented by a fastback with the index 2 and a cross-coupe under the number 4. By 2025, two more models will appear, the four-door Polestar 5 coupe and the Polestar 6 roadster. All of them, of course, will be electric.
