Polestar, which has grown from a Volvo tuning studio into a full-fledged automaker, suddenly decided to remember its roots in 2024. A limited edition of the Volvo S60 sedans and the Volvo XC60 crossover was released especially for the German market, which received the designation Polestar Engineered Limited Edition – it is under the Polestar Engineered brand that they now offer modifications for Volvo, but the Limited Edition indicates a limited edition of cars that will be made in several dozen copies.

The basis was taken from the top hybrid modifications of the T8 AWD, which implies a 455-horsepower power plant based on a 310-horsepower 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine, a 145-horsepower electric motor on the rear axle, an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The 14.7 kilowatt-hour battery provides up to 95 kilometers of electric range.

Polestar upgrades include a reinforced body, adjustable Ohlins shock absorbers, and Akebono (XC60) or Brembo (S60) brakes on 22- and 20-inch wheels, respectively. The interior features Polestar Engineered badging on the center console and gold-colored seat belts complementing the black leather trim. The equipment also includes a premium audio system from Harman Kardon for the S60 or Bowers & Wilkins for the XC60.

Visually, special versions can be distinguished by the matte 3M vinyl film that is applied to each body panel. Buyers can choose between Matte Silver and Matte Indigo shades, which contrast with the cars’ gold brake calipers. The Volvo S60 Polestar Engineered Limited Edition T8 AWD and Volvo XC60 Polestar Engineered Limited Edition T8 AWD will be produced in a limited edition of 60 cars of each model, which will be available only in Germany.
