In fact, the new Renault Grand Koleos borrowed the power structure of the body and the hybrid power plant available in China from the “Chinese” that is well known to Russians. The differences boil down to a modified front part with a frameless radiator grille, into which the optics of the original model fit very harmoniously. In addition, Grand Koleos has other interior finishing materials and, as Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes, other suppliers of a number of systems.

Renault Grand Koleos turned out to be a very successful result of Chinese-French badge engineering. The crossover is driven by the E-Tech hybrid system, which includes a one and a half liter gasoline engine. There is also an alternative in the form of a 211-horsepower 2.0-liter engine: in the front-wheel drive Grand Koleos, the engine is paired with a seven-speed “robot”, in the all-wheel drive – with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

A limited edition Esprit Alpine is announced for the new product, like the Renault Rafale cross-coupe, the main difference of which is a two-tone body and interior trim in Alcantara and suede. In addition, this Grand Koleos has 20-inch wheels of an exclusive design and a number plate, since the circulation is limited to 1955 copies.

Renault Future Renault models will use the platform of Volvo and Geely Geely and Renault will produce engines for Volvo, Nissan and Mitsubishi The joint venture between Renault and Geely will have 17 plants

Previously, Renault announced that as part of a partnership with Geely, which the companies agreed on back in 2023, it would use the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform. The parties also intend to jointly produce internal combustion engines, hybrid power plants and transmissions. The joint venture will include 17 plants around the world, and its clients will be Nissan, Mitsubishi and Volvo.

It is worth noting that Nissan and Mitsubishi, which are part of an alliance with Renault, are not participating in the deal with Geely, but will act as clients of the joint venture. The same applies to the Swedish Volvo and the Malaysian Proton, which belong to the Geely holding.
