The South Korean manufacturer has prepared a planned update for the pickup truck, which has been on sale since 2021. Details are still scarce: the Santa Cruz is promised a “rugged” exterior, as well as an updated interior with a new infotainment system and improved ergonomics. In addition, the pickup truck will acquire additional advanced driver assistance systems.

In the first teaser sketch, Hyundai showed the updated Santa Cruz from behind. It has very wide wheel arches (probably a nod to the design sketch genre) and a revised bumper design. The second picture shows part of a pickup truck’s grille with rectangular cutouts. They resemble the grille design of the updated Tucson, which is shown in the third teaser.

It is noted that the Santa Cruz in both images is presented in the “off-road” version of the XRT. The current pickup truck received this option last summer: it has enlarged wheel arch extensions, plastic trim on the doors and dark factory trim. The truck is driven by a “top” 2.5-liter turbo engine with 281 horsepower and 422 Nm, all-wheel drive with a rear axle coupling.

Insiders are tipping the updated Santa Cruz to feature a Tucson-style interior, adaptive cruise control, a Start-Stop function, a head-up display, support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital key and a fingerprint authentication system. A wider list of security systems is also expected.

The 2025 Santa Cruz will be shown at the New York International Auto Show on March 27. He will be accompanied at the Hyundai stand by the updated Tucson. The crossover featured new lighting and alloy wheels, as well as a redesigned interior and improved driver assistance systems.

Hyundai declassified the design of the 2025 Tucson model year back in December. The main changes are a different design of the radiator grille, slightly different bumpers and new linings.
