In the summer of 2023, the American Rivian took part in the start of the Pikes Peak mountain, which sent an R1T pickup truck to the legendary track in Colorado. The team did not achieve much success, so in the 2024 season they will make another attempt to conquer the race. This time, the restyled Rivian R1T will set off to conquer the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Factory engineers will provide support for the car, and the same pilot will sit behind the wheel as last year – the Rivian test driver.

The company’s senior test engineer, Gardner Nichols, who has experience in racing, including climbing Pikes Peak, will no longer have an 830-horsepower pickup truck, but a more powerful R1T. The flagship four-engine version with a power plant of 1039 horsepower and 1622 Newton meters will take part in the race.

Rivian has given its Pikes Peak-ready R1T racer a special livery and interior upgrades. The interior was completely stripped of decoration, extra seats and unnecessary equipment were removed – instead they were replaced by a full-fledged roll cage and one racing seat.
