Telegram channel “Autopotok” drew attention to the application for registration of the Jaecoo J9 trademark. This is the name for the flagship crossover, which is unified with the Chery Tiggo 9. The appearance of the model on the Russian market was announced last fall: then it was reported that the J9 would have a two-liter engine and all-wheel drive. With the registration of the name of the new product, it is one step closer to its appearance in our country.

As for competitors, the Jaecoo J9 could potentially compete for customers with the Geely Monjaro, which as of mid-May costs from 4.24 million to 4.74 million rubles – in early May, prices for this model were reduced by 250-450 thousand rubles The J9 may also be in the same price range, that is, up to five million rubles.

In the meantime, the Jaecoo brand is represented in Russia by two models, and both of them belong to the SUV segment. The first is the J7, which is offered with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. In both cases, the crossover is powered by a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine with 186 horsepower and a seven-speed robotic gearbox. Prices range from 3,339,900 to 3,749,900 excluding discounts.

The second is the slightly larger J8. It has an uncontested 2.0 engine with 249 horsepower, all-wheel drive and a robot. It costs from 4,399,000 to 4,699,000 rubles.

The Jaecoo brand is positioned as part of the Omoda brand, and cars are also sold in combined showrooms. There are several times more Omoda + Jaecoo salons in Russia than mono-brand Jaecoo.
