Hyundai and Kia, familiar to Russians, are again produced in St. Petersburg, but under the new Solaris brand. The assembly of the remaining kits was carried out by the AGR company, which took over the former Hyundai Manufacturing Rus plant. The cars have already begun to be shipped to car dealerships, but prices have not yet been disclosed. As the Quto portal found out, there won’t be any: dealers will be able to set the price themselves.

Several dealers who have Solaris cars in stock told the portal about this decision. According to them, the manufacturer gave them carte blanche to set their own prices.

AGR gave an evasive comment, neither confirming nor denying this information. They noted that the company does not yet plan to send out any press releases on the cost of Solaris, and suggested that buyers find out price lists from sellers on their own.

Most of the cars delivered today are Solaris HS and HC, also known as Hyundai Solaris and Creta. In addition to them, the line of the new brand includes the KRS and KRX models – Kia Rio and Kia Rio X, respectively.

It was reported that the HS in the initial Active Plus configuration with a 123-horsepower 1.6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission was priced at 2,064,000 rubles. HC with the same combination is offered in Moscow for 2,790,000 rubles, and for the version with a two-liter engine they ask for more than 3.5 million.

Despite the price tags, dealers reported rushing demand for both the rebadged Solaris and the erstwhile Creta.
