Special Edition Maserati GranCabrio Dedicated to Italian Wine

The Tignanello version was released in honor of the red wine of the same name, the first blend of which was created in 1971. The electric car is painted in chestnut “metallic” Terra di Tignanello, and its interior is trimmed with Vegea vegetable leather, the raw materials for which are, among other things, wine waste. This is the first time this material has been used on a Maserati. Well, everything together should remind you of the oak barrels in which the wine is aged, as well as the rows of vineyards and the special atmosphere that reigns at the Antinori family winery.

Maserati has presented a special version of the GranCabrio Folgore convertible, dedicated to the super-Tuscan Tignanello. The first blend of this wine was created more than 50 years ago by the Antinori family. White grapes, which were usually used for red wines, were excluded from its composition, plus the Antinori changed the preparation process and began aging Tignanello in oak barrels. The innovative approach revolutionized the entire local winemaking, and Tignanello became the standard among Italian wines.

Maserati decided to pay tribute to the Florentine winemakers by combining colors and materials. The two-door was painted in chestnut metallic Terra di Tignanello, which was chosen because of its resemblance to the soil of the vineyard. In the light, the enamel shimmers with copper-burgundy shades, as if it were a barrique barrel. The folding roof is black, as are the brake calipers. The seats, for the first time in the history of the brand, are upholstered in Vegea vegetable leather, and the striped pattern is a hint of the rows of vineyards. The overlays on the front panel are made of natural wood. The logo embroidered on the headrests depicts the sun – one of the symbols of Tignanello.

The Maserati GranCabrio Folgore is powered by three electric motors, developing 829 horsepower and 1,350 Nm of torque at peak. The capacity of the 800-volt battery is 92.5 kilowatt-hours. Acceleration from 0 to 100 takes 2.8 seconds for the convertible, and 0 to 200 in 9.1. Maximum speed is 290 kilometers per hour. The electric car’s rated range varies from 419 to 447 kilometers.
