Somewhere in an underground parking lot in South Korea, they came across a carefully camouflaged prototype of a large Hyundai crossover, which, judging by the visible details, is close to the production one. The Palisade is preparing for its first generation change since its premiere in 2018, and a radical design change is expected, as well as a revision of the engine range, which could feature a hybrid powertrain for the first time.

Judging by the video, in the second generation the three-row crossover will receive new headlights and a radiator grille, different wings and a revised rear design, which was especially carefully hidden under camouflage. Hyundai itself announced serious changes in appearance: it was reported that the new Palisade will not only be different from the current model, but also from the new Santa Fe.

In addition, the new product is predicted to have an increased wheelbase. Thanks to this, there will be more legroom inside for passengers in the second and third rows.

The spies were also able to look inside the prototype. The front of the interior is hidden, but the seats and trim details are visible. These include door cards with round handles and round speakers, a glossy panel with buttons on the ceiling, perforated leather and wood inserts.

Hyundai wants to introduce a subscription to popular options after BMW The former Hyundai plant in Russia lost almost 17 billion rubles in a year Hyundai updated the Santa Cruz pickup: what has changed

As for the engine range, a year ago insiders reported a hybrid power plant based on a 2.5-liter gasoline turbo engine that will produce more than 280 horsepower. The transmission is an eight-speed automatic from Hyundai Transys (manufacturer of transmissions, seats and wheel drives).

The naturally aspirated 3.8-liter V6 will presumably give way to a supercharged 3.5 V6, and the 2.2-liter “turbodiesel” will be completely excluded from the palette.

Palisade was slightly refreshed at the end of last year, introducing the Calligraphy Night Edition with dark decor costing $53,600 – 4.8 million in rubles. Palisades are brought to Russia “gray” and they ask for much more for new cars – about six million rubles at least.
