The photographs published by the Chinese portal Autohome show a six-seat version of the latest Tank 800, the appearance of which has not yet been confirmed. As a rule, options with separate captain’s chairs on the second row are positioned as the most luxurious. And since the Tank 800 is tipped to compete almost with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, it can be assumed that such an SUV is designed for VIPs who prefer to travel with a personal driver.

The following is known about the Tank 800 model: it will borrow a new platform with a multi-link rear suspension from the Tank 700, but will differ in suspension settings and expanded comfort options. In the brand’s line-up, the SUV is given a flagship position, and it is tipped to have a powerful Hi4-T hybrid unit based on a 3.0-liter six. The internal combustion engine together with the electric motor will develop 523 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque.

CarNewsChina writes that comparisons with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan are most likely being forced in the Chinese media by Great Wall itself, but in reality the Tank 800 will rather compete with the Infiniti QX80 and Lexus LX 600. According to preliminary estimates, the Tank 800 will cost approximately 800 thousand yuan , which is equivalent to 10 thousand rubles. For comparison: the most luxurious “off-road” flagship Tank 700 was priced at 700 thousand yuan (8.8 million rubles at today’s exchange rate).

A conceptual prototype of the Tank 800 was shown a few years ago. On the way to the production line, the design of the model was greatly simplified, in particular, the car lost its massive bumper, the edging of the radiator grille changed, additional window sections in the rear pillars disappeared, and the taillights were made in the shape of boomerangs.

Previously, Great Wall stated that the Russian market is one of the priorities for the Tank brand, so the “eight hundredth” has every chance of reaching our country. Potentially, it can replace the Mercedes-Benz GLS and the already mentioned Infiniti and Lexus models for Russians.
