State Duma deputies believe that in Russia it is necessary to tighten control over technical inspection

The initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was supported by the First Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on Transport and Transport Infrastructure Development Rifat Shaikhutdinov. According to the official, today cases of issuing fake diagnostic cards have become more frequent in the country, which leads to increased danger on the roads.

According to experts, recently the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been identifying more and more fake diagnostic cards. First of all, owners of buses and trucks resort to photoshop, as well as distortion of tachograph data. All these illegal actions lead to increased accidents on the roads.

The State Duma proposes to make changes to the technical inspection process by adopting a corresponding regulatory act. Deputies believe that in order to reduce counterfeit diagnostic cards, it is necessary to check photographs more thoroughly, as well as introduce control over the presence of tachographs among truck owners.

In May last year, the powers to control technical inspection operators were going to be transferred to the Federal Accreditation Agency. The department was supposed to start work this year.
