Great Wall Motor is preparing to release an upgraded version of its flagship SUV Tank 500 2025. The updated model, which received the Hi4-T prefix, will become more powerful and passable, while maintaining a high level of equipment and an affordable price.

The main innovation of the Tank 500 Hi4-T will be a power plant based on an engine operating on the economical Miller cycle. At the same time, the possible loss of power is compensated by installing an additional electric motor, turning the Tank into a full-fledged hybrid. The transmission has also been upgraded with an intelligent all-wheel drive system, which will now work faster and more efficiently off-road. An update of the multimedia complex with improved integration with smartphones is expected. In Russia, the current Tank 500 is offered with a hybrid power plant based on a 2.0-liter turbo engine with a total power of 299 hp. or with a 3.0-liter mild-hybrid V6.

Prices for the Tank 500 in Russia start at 6.3 million rubles, however, due to promotions and discounts, the SUV can be purchased for almost a million cheaper. After modernization, the cost is likely to partially increase, but the Tank 500 Hi4-T will retain its main advantage – affordability for buyers with a high level of equipment and impressive cross-country ability.
