Tech giant Huawei has teamed up with compatriots from the auto industry and created the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA). It already includes several brands: Aito, launched with Seres, Stelato (BAIC) and Luxeed (Chery). Huawei is involved in the development of the machines and also provides its software. One of HIMA’s upcoming new products will be the R7 – the first Luxeed crossover, which will join the S7 sedan.

The letter R in the model name means “revolution,” HIMA notes. Externally, the car almost completely repeats (adjusted for the form factor) the Luxeed S7 sedan presented last year on the Chery E0X platform.

The crossover measures 4.96 meters in length, 1.98 meters in width, and 1.63 meters in height with a wheelbase of 2.95 meters. That is, in terms of dimensions it is comparable to the Hyundai Palisade.

The Luxeed R7 will be equipped with both an all-electric and hybrid powertrain, with both options receiving an 800-volt electrical system. An electric car with a single engine and single-wheel drive will develop up to 292 horsepower, and with all-wheel drive – 496 horsepower. The battery capacity is unknown, but the power reserve is revealed – 855 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle.

The interior, judging by the spy shots, is almost the same as the S7. The equipment will include multimedia systems based on Huawei’s HarmonyOS, the Qiankun ADS 3.0 smart autonomous driving system, and a 4D millimeter-wave radar. In addition, the crossover will be supplied with Pirelli P-ZERO tires with dimensions of 245/55 and 255/50 R20.

Sales in China should start in the second half of this year. The expected cost is from 300 to 400 thousand yuan or 3.7-4.9 million rubles.

In Russia, the Luxeed brand has been registered since August last year, along with many other Chery trademarks. However, the S7 sedan is still being transported only in the “gray” way: on classifieds it is offered to order for at least five million rubles.
