Photos of a Haval Raptor with a classic power plant have appeared in the open database of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the People’s Republic of China. Instead of the Hi4-T system with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and a pair of electric motors, a 2.0-liter 4N20A “turbo-four” is installed – in March, a similar unit was localized in Russia! There is no information about the gearbox, but there will definitely be an all-wheel drive system with a clutch at the rear.

The first imported engine plant: how Haval engines are assembled near Tula

Haval Raptor is one of the new products on the Chinese market; sales began last fall, but so far only a hybrid version is available. Now a regular crossover with a modified design and technology is on the way: headlights and lanterns, a radiator grille, fender trims and rims will change. / Ministry of Industry and Trade of the People’s Republic of China

It is known that the 2.0-liter engine on the Raptor will develop 238 horsepower, that is, it will be more torquey than on the Russian Haval Dargo. There may be differences in the transmission: in theory, the Great Wall concern can rely not on a 7-speed, but on a 9-speed preselective “robot”. No innovations are expected in the interior, because the model has not yet become outdated.

Production of all-new Haval H9 has started in China

The hybrid Haval Raptor costs from 166 thousand yuan ($23.4 thousand) in China, but the regular version will definitely be cheaper. The timing of the debut of the gasoline version is not specified, but usually several weeks pass from the moment of certification to the start of sales. Nothing is known about the export prospects of the model either.
