The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the People’s Republic of China published photographs and characteristics of the model, which will soon be registered at the joint venture. We are talking about the Lingxi L electric sedan from the Dongfeng-Honda plant: it stands out for its bold design, but the simplicity of the design and market positioning hint that the parties are targeting the budget segment. The premiere of the first-born Lingxi may take place in April at the Beijing Auto Show.

The production Lingxi L is a simplified version of last year’s concept car of the same name. With small wheels, the appearance has changed, and it cannot be called harmonious. In terms of dimensions, the new product is slightly inferior to the Honda Accord: the length/width/height of the electric sedan are 4830/1845/1503 millimeters, respectively.

However, in terms of wheelbase (2731 millimeters), the Lingxi L is closer to the “junior” Civic, and the power is not outstanding: only 218 horsepower. Dongfeng-Honda will rely on a simple architecture with a front-mounted electric motor and a lithium iron phosphate traction battery between the axles. Curb weight – 1702 kilograms. The only unusual option is radar, which hints at the expanded functionality of active safety systems.

Recommended retail prices for the Lingxi L are kept secret, but it looks like the new product will be cheaper than the e:NS electric crossovers. All details about the sedan with a custom design are expected in the next two months. By 2030, Dongfeng-Honda expects to increase the share of electrified models to half, and after 2027 to stop producing new cars with internal combustion engines.
