On Wednesday, May 15, the Lada Izhevsk plant hosted a ceremony to launch production of the Largus model. As Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports, the first cars to roll off the assembly line were a passenger station wagon in the Classic configuration and a commercial van. AvtoVAZ immediately announced prices: Largus can be purchased for 1,660,000 rubles – that’s how much the passenger version will cost. A van will cost 1,670,000 rubles. In the fall, a more expensive “Comfort” version will appear for 1,760,000 rubles.

Largus will be offered in two modifications. The first is with an eight-valve 1.6-liter engine producing 90 horsepower, the second is with a 16-valve engine producing 106 horsepower. The gearbox is a non-alternative “mechanics”.

It is reported that the press production localized 13 stamped components (mainly front parts). During this year, the plant is localizing large and medium stamping parts, more than 60 items in total. Lada Largus is painted in five colors: “Glacial”, “Platinum”, “Panther”, “Borneo” and “Coriander”.

The transfer of Lada Largus production began in September 2023 and ended in January 2024. During this time, more than 1.2 thousand pieces of equipment were moved, installed and launched. The transfer cost AvtoVAZ approximately two billion rubles, that is, twice as much as the transfer of Vesta from Izhevsk to Tolyatti.

The head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, said that by the end of the year 50 thousand Largus will be produced, including electric versions of e-Largus, the production of which will start in the third quarter. And already in 2025, volumes will increase to 100 thousand cars per year.

As for the plant in Tolyatti, where Largus were produced before being moved to Izhevsk, the first line of the main conveyor will be used to produce extended Lada Aura sedans for officials, and then the announced crossover based on Vesta will also be “registered” there – the first test samples of this the models are already assembled. The launch of the crossover on the market is scheduled for 2026.

In the meantime, they produce Granta, Vesta NG and the Niva family – Niva Travel and Niva Lagend.
