The Indian branch of the brand announced the start of accepting applications for the LWB version of the eighth generation “five”. So far, the only modification announced is the 530Li M-Sport. It will be offered with bronze or aluminum decorative inserts in two body colors (gray or black) and a single interior design (taupe perforated Veganza leather trim).

The BMW 5-Series, with its wheelbase extended by 110 millimeters, debuted in China at the end of January. Initially, it was assumed that the sedan from the Brilliance-BMW plant would become a local exclusive, but in the end the extended “five” was offered in another important market – in neighboring India.

The range of right-hand drive sedans with the L index so far consists only of petrol 2.0-liter versions, although electric vehicles are also available in China. But the AutoCar India portal has already noticed that in all geometric dimensions such a “five” will surpass the Mercedes-Benz E-Class in the W214 body. To complete the information, only prices are missing: they will be published on July 24.

The growing Indian market is attracting premium brands and forcing auto giants to take unconventional moves. For example, Land Rover localized the flagship Range Rover in India: long-wheelbase SUVs with rich trim levels began to be assembled on the shores of the Indian Ocean.
