The model, which has been on the market since spring 2021 and competes in the US with the Ford Maverick and Honda Ridgeline, will be transformed during a planned restyling. The Korean brand is already testing a pickup truck on public roads, and foreign media are wondering what exactly will change in the appearance of Santa Cruz. Carscoops found out details about the upcoming restyling of the pickup truck and published unofficial renderings from an independent artist based on spy photos.

The updated Hyundai Santa Cruz is shown in unofficial renderings with a squarer grille with a new design consisting of rectangular blocks. In addition, it has new bumpers and a different configuration of the front optics: the main headlight units are located low, and the running lights are integrated into the grille. It is expected that changes will also affect the lights and wheel design. There are also rumors about new colors in the palette – Fine Green Matte and Ultimate Red Metallic.

According to unofficial data, the interior will be transformed in the Tucson style: a curved panel will be installed on the front panel, combining two 12.3-inch screens – a digital instrument panel and a touchscreen for the multimedia system. The gear lever may “move” onto the steering column. There will be support for over-the-air software updates, Hyundai BlueLink telematics services and a new three-tone trim option combining shades of green, black and gray.

The current Hyundai Santa Cruz is equipped with a 1.5-liter “four” with a capacity of 191 horsepower, working in conjunction with an eight-speed automatic transmission. An alternative is a 2.5-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 281 horsepower paired with an eight-speed robot. The model is available with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. It is possible that with restyling, the pickup truck may acquire a hybrid version.

Carscoops will give the restyled pickup truck adaptive cruise control, a Start-Stop function, a head-up display, support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital key and a fingerprint authentication system. Most likely, the range of security systems will also expand.

Hyundai Santa Cruz is brought to Russia as a parallel import, since the Korean brand does not officially sell cars in our market, and did not plan to sell the pickup truck at all. On classifieds you can find advertisements for the sale of this model, prices vary from 3.3 million for a 2022 model car to 4.1 million for a pickup truck without mileage in the Russian Federation.
