On the eve of the police day in a number of Russian regions, employees of the Road Patrol Service were presented with “impersonalized” Haval F7 cars. Instead of nameplates with the name of the Chinese brand, the “DPS” label appeared on the radiator grille. From the press release of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Chuvashia it follows that the crossovers were purchased as part of the federal project “Road Safety”.
In Cheboksary, traffic police officers were presented with seven Haval F7 crossovers; other cars from the batch went to colleagues from the Smolensk region, the Republics of Karelia and Mordovia. In all cases, the police received cars without Haval nameplates: the reason for this is not known for certain. This is probably how the cars are marked “Nizhegorodets” after installing additional equipment.
Previously, as part of the federal program, Skoda Octavia, Hyundai Solaris, Lada Vesta and UAZ Patriot were purchased for traffic police, but now the authorities essentially have no options left. AvtoVAZ has not yet reached the planned production rate of Vesta NG, and UAZ is already faced with a shortage of Patriots due to fulfilling a government order. According to Mordovian journalists, a Haval F7 with all-wheel drive and a 2.0-liter turbo engine is being purchased under the state program.
The total number of “contracted” Haval F7 DPS is unknown, but one car cost the budget 3.5 million rubles: 600 thousand went to retrofitting the Nizhny Novgorod, and 2.9 million rubles was the dealer price for the 190-horsepower crossover in the Elite configuration.
