Mini’s ever-growing range continues to expand with the launch of the latest Cooper 5-door hatchback. It is currently only available in a combustion engine version, but an all-electric version is believed to be in the works.

Externally, the new product resembles a 3-door model, but with two additional doors. But there are other differences, for example, the bar dividing the radiator grille is slightly thinner than that of the 3-door version.

The 5-door Mini has also increased in size: its length is 4036 mm (+172 mm from the 3-door version), and the wheelbase has been increased by 72 mm. The short overhangs of the 3-door model are retained, and the familiar triangular taillights are located at the rear.

In Europe, the Cooper 5 Door will have a choice of two petrol engines. The first is a small 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo engine producing 156 hp. and 230 Nm of torque. A Cooper C with this engine will accelerate to 100 km/h in 8 seconds and reach 225 km/h.

If you want something more dynamic, then you should choose the Cooper S with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 204 hp. and 300 Nm of torque. The Cooper S can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 242 km/h.

The hatchback will be available with wheel sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches, while those who opt for 17 or 18-inch wheels will get wider 215mm tires.

The new five-door Cooper can be ordered. The first version, the Essential Trim, includes black seats with patterned fabric, while the Classic Trim version replaces the standard two-spoke steering wheel with a three-spoke one. There’s the more expensive Favored Trim with a two-tone houndstooth pattern, and the sporty JCW trim with multicolor knit fabric and black faux leather with red stitching.

Regardless of trim level, all new five-door Mini Coopers will feature a large, round 9.4-inch OLED display in the center of the dashboard, running the latest Mini 9 operating system. The display can be configured with seven different interior modes to change the feel and salon atmosphere.
