The model underwent restyling back in August 2023, but only now the “refreshed” Sorento has gone on sale on the Kazakh market with a starting price of 18,690,000 tenge, which in terms of today’s exchange rate is a little more than 3.8 million rubles. The new product is offered with a single 2.5-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 179 horsepower, an automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

You can choose a five- or seven-seat version of the Sorento, but the latter costs significantly more – from 21,690,000 tenge (4.45 million rubles). There are four trim levels – the most expensive will cost 23,290,000 tenge (4.78 million rubles). Already in the “base” the Kazakh crossover has cruise control with a speed limiter, rain and light sensors, LED optics, front and rear parking sensors, as well as a set of security systems. Kia cars that are officially sold in Kazakhstan are covered by a warranty of five years or 150 thousand kilometers.

The current, fourth generation Sorento has been in service since 2020, it was sold in Russia and was popular. The updated version can be distinguished from the pre-reform version by a new radiator grille, front optics of a different design and an extended hood – now the crossover looks more like the “older” Telluride.

In the cabin, instead of two separate screens, a single cluster of a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a multimedia system display of the same size was installed. Because of this, it was necessary to reconsider the placement of ventilation deflectors.

It is no longer possible to officially buy Kia cars in Russia – the company has not been selling or producing them in the country since the spring of 2022. However, Kia Rio and Rio X returned to the market, but under the new Solaris brand – they were renamed KRS and KRX, respectively. Both models are assembled at the facilities of the former Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus plant from the remaining vehicle kits.
