Officially, Okavango, whose original name is Haoyue, is not presented on the Russian market, but this model was supplied to the country through parallel imports and was in demand. On November 24, the premiere of the updated version of the crossover for the 2024 model year took place in China. Moreover, in China, the updated car has become cheaper: a seven-seater SUV with a 2.0-liter Volvo engine costs from 97.9 thousand yuan (1.2 million rubles) versus 127.9 thousand yuan for the pre-reform version.
The updated Haoyue L/Okavango L is distinguished primarily by its multimedia system: it has a new “filling” on the E04 chip (7 nm process technology and performance higher than Snapdragon 8155), and the display diagonal is 14.6 inches instead of the previous 12.3. The software has also been updated: instead of Galaxy OS, it is now Galaxy OS version 2.0. The result is smoother graphics a quarter of the age, and apps now launch 18 percent faster. Another new feature is red interior trim in Danxia Red, which replaces Desert Brown.

The power plant remains the same – it is a combination of a two-liter engine with a capacity of 218 horsepower and a seven-speed “robot”, front-wheel drive. At the same time, Geely states that as a result of the improvements, it was possible to slightly reduce the fuel consumption of the crossover. And now it can run on AI-92 gasoline.
The Chinese Cars portal reports that the updated Geely Okavango L will appear in Russia in 2024 and will be sold officially. From the slide that company representatives showed at the Russian-Chinese Automotive Forum, it follows that plans for next year include two compact crossovers, one mid-size SUV and one mid-size sedan. Journalists, citing an unnamed source, say that we are talking about Starray (aka the new Atlas), Okavango L, Atlas Cool and Preface L.
